Setup Guide
Otodoke setup guide
The steps from installing the app to letting customers choose a delivery date in the cart. Steps 1 to 5 get you started.
-
STEP 1 Install the app and choose a plan
Install Otodoke from the Shopify App Store and choose a plan.
- Basic plan: $3.99/month ($39.90/year)
- Plus plan: $14.99/month ($149.90/year). On Shopify Plus stores, customers can also choose the date inside the checkout
Both plans include a 14-day free trial. You can change plans at any time from Pricing in the app.
-
STEP 2 Save your delivery settings
In Otodoke's Delivery settings, fill in the following and save.
- Selection type: date and time, date only, day of the week only, or time only
- Lead times and same-day cutoff time: preparation days, transit days, and the cutoff time
- Shipping holidays and non-delivery days: you can also import public holidays and add long holidays as a date range
- Time slots: add them from a carrier preset, then add or reorder them
Saving creates and turns on checkout validation (whether the date can be delivered on). Use the Delivery date preview to check which dates are available.
-
STEP 3 Add the picker to the cart page
On Otodoke's home page, click "Add the date picker to the cart page". The theme editor opens on the cart template with the picker block added.
- The block is added at the bottom of the page. Drag it in the list on the left to above the checkout button
- Click Save in the top right
You don't need to change any theme code. Before you switch themes, see Before you switch themes.
-
STEP 4 Show it in the cart drawer too (drawer themes only)
If your theme opens the cart as a side drawer instead of a page, click "Turn on the date picker in the cart drawer" on Otodoke's home page and save in the theme editor. The picker appears just above the checkout button in the drawer.
Even with both the cart page picker and the drawer picker turned on, only one picker appears. If it doesn't show up, see Show the picker in the cart drawer.
-
STEP 5 Check it in your store
Add a product to the cart in your store and check that the picker appears. Choose a date and place a test order: the chosen date and time appear under "Additional details" on the order page.
If you used another delivery date app before, remove its blocks and app embeds. Apps that write the same attribute names overwrite each other's values.
-
STEP 6 Show it after purchase and in emails (optional)
You can show the chosen date and time on the thank you page, the order status page, and in the order confirmation email.
- Pages: add the "Otodoke 配送希望日時" block in the checkout editor
- Email: copy the code on Otodoke's home page and paste it into the Order confirmation notification
For details, see Show the delivery date on post-purchase pages and Show the delivery date and time in order confirmation emails.
-
STEP 7 Change lead times by product or region (optional)
In Per-product settings under Delivery settings, set preparation days by product tag and choose products that can't have a delivery date. In Settings by prefecture, add transit days for each destination prefecture.
For details, see Per-product settings and Add transit days by prefecture. To show the field inside the checkout on a Shopify Plus store, see Let customers choose a delivery date in checkout.
