Set up a gift and its conditions

Choose a gift product and a condition such as "¥10,000 or more", then save. The setup guide in the app walks you through the rest.

Turn on the app embed

Turn on "Omake gift auto-add" in the theme editor and it goes live in your store.

Is there a demo store where I can try it?

Yes. You can try the three ways of adding gifts (automatic, checkbox, and dialog) and the gift offer inside Shopify Plus checkout, each in its own demo store.

See the demo section of the introduction page for the list and the password (omakedemo).

I installed the app, but no banner or gift shows up in my store.

Turn on "Omake gift auto-add" under "App embeds" in the theme editor. If you open the theme editor from the link in the setup guide in Omake, it opens with the embed already turned on.

I can't select "Add automatically".

So that shoppers are never charged without agreeing, adding automatically is only available when the gift product is priced at ¥0. Set the gift product's price to ¥0, or let shoppers choose with a checkbox or dialog.

Can I use Omake with Shopify Flow?

Yes, on the Business plan and above. With Shopify Flow you can automate alerts and tasks based on what happens in Omake. For example:

  • Email or Slack your team when a gift is running low (trigger: Gift stock low)
  • Get notified when a gift rule pauses automatically because the limited quantity was reached or the gift ran out (trigger: Gift rule paused automatically)
  • Add a tag or note to gift orders for your fulfillment team (trigger: Gift order created)
  • Resume a paused gift rule when the gift is restocked (Shopify's Inventory quantity changed + action: Resume Omake gift rule)
  • Resume a gift rule when a sale starts and pause it when it ends (scheduled time + actions: Pause / Resume Omake gift rule)

In Flow, choose Select trigger and pick Omake to see these triggers and actions. In the actions, enter the gift rule's name or ID as shown in Omake.

Could someone buy just the gift without meeting the conditions?

No. Carts that don't meet the conditions, or that contain more gifts than allowed, are stopped at checkout, and the shopper sees the reason.

What language do international shoppers see?

Omake includes text in Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, French, German, and Spanish, and switches to match the shopper's language. Other languages are shown in English.

What's the difference between the Free, Pro, Business, and Shopify Plus only plans?

On the Free plan you can create one gift rule with one condition, using cart total, item count, or product tags. The Pro plan ($3.99/month or $39.99/year, with a 7-day free trial) lets you create up to 5 gift rules with priority, combine up to 3 conditions per rule, use collection, customer tag and login conditions, set a campaign period, and sync with gift inventory (pause automatically when the gift is out of stock). The Business plan ($9.99/month or $99.99/year, with a 7-day free trial) includes everything in Pro, plus up to 10 gift rules, limited quantities that pause automatically, analytics by gift rule, Shopify Flow triggers and actions, and copying settings to another store. The Shopify Plus only plan ($19.99/month or $199.99/year, with a 7-day free trial) includes everything in Business and lets you offer the gift inside checkout, including when shoppers skip the cart with Buy it now or Shop Pay. Shopify Plus stores can also use the Free, Pro, and Business plans (gift offer in the cart). You only need the Shopify Plus only plan to offer the gift inside checkout.

Can I try paid plan features on a store that is still being built?

Yes. While a development store or a client transfer store is still in development, you can use every feature of the Pro, Business, and Shopify Plus only plans for free, whichever plan you selected. After you transfer the store to your client (transfer of ownership) or the store subscribes to a paid Shopify plan, select the plan you want to use again.
